Mindfulness classes - for individuals and groups - are safe spaces to enquire, learn, get curious, and discover a practice that suits one’s life.

Kat for Kids

How can we help children to feel relaxed and more at peace, no matter what is going on around them?  Is there a way forward through the discomfort my child feels when he/she is distressed?

Kat’s Mindfulness For Kids - whether in a class setting or individual sessions - give children a space to view their responses to different situations and deepen their awareness of agency.  “What choices are available to me?”  “Can I choose differently next time?”  “What do I need to do right now to be with this discomfort?”.

Simple yet effective techniques help children to stop before social situations escalate.  Allowing them to tune into what is going on in the moment.  For themselves.  And from this place they can develop compassion and empathy for friends, family, and the community at large.

It all starts with something simple.  Like breathing.  Smiling.  Listening to a story.  Relating to the characters within a story.  Recognizing themselves in their own stories, or anothers.

Children’s Mindfulness Classes and 1 to 1 sessions are all about helping students to develop awareness of themselves and others in a safe space where agency is celebrated, self esteem enhanced, and children can access their breath just a little easier.

About Kat’s Classes with Kids

Kat is a qualified educator, theatre practitioner, storyteller, on top of being training extensively as a mindfulness teacher.

Her classes are fun, uplifting spaces where children learn to connect with themselves and others with greater comfort and awareness.

There is no “closing your eyes and sitting straight” for an extended time.  The techniques are simple, accessible, and easy to remember when needed most.

The added bonus of storytelling during her classes gives the children a space to be led into the imagination where anything is possible.  This leads to more “creative choices” when it comes to our own wellbeing.
