Mindfulness classes - for individuals and groups - are safe spaces to enquire, learn, get curious, and discover a practice that suits one’s life.

Katherine (Kat) McLeod blends her skills as storyteller, director, educator and wellness practitioner to deliver concise, effective, uplifting classes that inspire her clients to relax into presence and learn to manage daily life more easily.

Kat’s Training

Originally trained as an educator and theatre/performance practitioner in her native homeland Canada, Katherine (Kat) began her journey into mindfulness and meditation 30 years ago in Seoul, Korea.

Her original training was in Ki Gong meditation (with Master Yung), and then soon after she began studying both yoga and meditation with a variety of teachers.  India, Sri Lanka, Bali, Singapore, and Australia are the main places Kat has travelled to for her learning.  Her first teacher training was with Niv Farrow at Acuenergetics in Sydney, Australia followed by Kundalini teacher training in Byron Bay, Australia with Guru Das.

More recently Kat has graduated from an intensive two year program with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield (Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program).  Following on from that she has completed a one year mentorship program with Insight Meditation teacher Ronya Banks who leads the Asheville Insight Meditation Centre in North Carolina, USA.

Kat specializes in working with school age children and adults.

Kat Mcleod
“Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration and my most steady teacher.  I grew up in small town Canada - spending summers by the lake and winters on skis, toboggans, and skating on the nearby river.  It is in nature - wherever I am in the world - that I am most at home”

Inspirations

Kat’s teachings are inspired by nature, her work as a creative, an endless supply of incredible mindfulness literature, amazing mentors, the exciting work of neuroscientists, and her vast experience of over 25 years as a professional storyteller.

“There is always more to learn” says Kat.  “I feel the world we live and breathe in gives us plenty of material each day to live our best lives.  Tapping into our intuition and building internal resources through continuous learning is what activates our own creative wellbeing machine.  Every single person is the perfect student for growth and change.  It just takes the right teacher, friend, family member and moment where our will is activated and the path opens up into a whole new experience of life.  Patience and being ok with the difficult moments is helpful too.”

“Be kind to your sleeping heart.  Take it out into the vast fields of light.  And let it breathe.”
